Belgravia Carpet Cleaning Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Belgravia Carpet Cleaning in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious global issue and we are committed to playing our part in eradicating it.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Belgravia Carpet Cleaning provides professional carpet, upholstery, and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. Our operations are primarily based in the United Kingdom, and our supply chain includes suppliers of cleaning products, equipment, consumables, uniforms, and support services such as maintenance and transport.
While our business is relatively simple and our supply chains are limited, we understand that risks of modern slavery can exist at any level, particularly in the sourcing and manufacture of products and raw materials. We are therefore committed to ongoing vigilance and continuous improvement in our approach.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We have a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to our own operations, the conduct of our employees and contractors, and the activities of our suppliers and business partners. Any form of forced, bonded or compulsory labour, servitude, child labour that contravenes local law, or human trafficking is strictly prohibited.
Our expectations are clearly communicated to staff during induction and through internal guidance. We also communicate our zero-tolerance stance to existing and prospective suppliers, making it clear that breaches of our requirements may result in the termination of contracts and relationships.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain. When selecting and reviewing suppliers, we consider their policies, practices, and track record in relation to labour standards, human rights, and ethical conduct.
Where proportionate to the level of risk, we may request written confirmations of compliance with applicable modern slavery and human rights laws and may ask suppliers to provide details of their own modern slavery statements or equivalent documents. We reserve the right to conduct audits, request supporting evidence, or engage third parties to carry out assessments where there is a heightened risk or where concerns have been raised.
If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards or relevant legislation, we will seek to work with them to remedy the situation promptly. Where remediation is not possible or cooperation is not forthcoming, we will take appropriate action, which may include suspending or ending the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about any suspicion of modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns can be reported in person to line managers or senior management and may also be raised in writing.
We are committed to ensuring that no person who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result. All reports will be treated seriously and, where appropriate, investigated promptly and confidentially. Where we identify indicators of modern slavery, we will take appropriate steps to protect potential victims and cooperate with relevant authorities as required.
Training and Awareness
We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in purchasing, supplier management, and frontline operations. This includes providing information on how to recognise potential signs of exploitation, how to respond to concerns, and the importance of upholding our zero-tolerance policy.
As our business grows and our supply chains evolve, we will review the need for more formal training programmes and guidance to ensure that our people understand their responsibilities and our collective commitment to ethical conduct.
Monitoring, Annual Review, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to monitoring the effectiveness of the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and to improving our approach over time. Key areas of focus include strengthening supplier due diligence, enhancing internal awareness, and refining our reporting and escalation processes.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure that it remains current, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, and contractual arrangements to reflect lessons learned, emerging risks, and changes in our operations or supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the management of Belgravia Carpet Cleaning, who are responsible for its implementation and for overseeing our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
